Benefits for Our Umbrella Company Employees: Medical and Support Services

The news and social media are full of stories about how challenging things are for NHS services at the moment, and how difficult it can be for patients to access the care they need. Our umbrella company employees’ health and wellbeing are important to us, so in this article we’ll cover the medical and support services we provide as part of our employee benefits platform, Orange Genie Companion.

If you need to speak to a doctor

Our Personal Doctor service gives you access to private GP appointments by phone or webcam.

  • Telephone service available at any time, 365 days of the year. 

  • Video consultations available 7 days a week between 08.00 – 22.00.

  • Available to you and those family members living in the same household.

  • UK registered GPs

  • Private prescriptions can be prescribed and sent to a nominated pharmacy.

  • No limit on number of consultations or length of consultation.

Call backs will be within 48 hours, with most happening on the same day.

If you need specialist medical care

If you need to be referred to a specialist, our Medical Specialist service can help. By accessing all the various NHS databases it’s often possible to use cancelled or unfilled appointments, meaning you or your family member could receive treatment more quickly.

Just call the helpline and our staff will guide you through the process of requesting a referral, review the surgical options available and provide an indication of private hospital costs if necessary.

If a loved one falls ill

If you’re responsible for a vulnerable person it can be difficult to know where to turn if they fall ill. Whether you need advice on care, medical finances, property and funding or legal support, our Care Support service is there for you. By providing a single expert point of contact, our Care Support service will help you navigate the care options to make sure you find the right solution.

 If you need to talk something over

Our umbrella company employees and their families can use our confidential helpline to speak in confidence to a fully qualified counsellor at any time of the day or night. 

Our counsellors can help you with health advice across a range of medical and wellbeing services and we have expert legal and financial support available through our specialist partners. 

The aim is to support you and find a solution to whatever is worrying you. There is no limit on the number of times you can call, and everything discussed is treated in the strictest of confidence. 

You can also access a library of helpful written information about a wide variety of mental health issues. Self-help workbooks can be downloaded in PDF format, and comprise in-depth expert and medical information, as well as advice on how you can move forward, and contact details for specialist organisations where appropriate.
