Keeping Track of Your Umbrella Company Pay and Pension

As an umbrella company employee, you will receive a payslip each time you’re paid. This will detail the amount paid to you, as well as any deductions made from your gross pay. Depending on your umbrella company, you may receive a separate document detailing how your gross pay was calculated from the contract rate that was paid to your umbrella.

It’s important that you understand your pay documents so you can be confident that everything is correct. Even if your pay is the same every week or month, it makes sense to go through them at least once, to make sure you understand all the deductions and you’re happy it’s all in order.

If you have questions about your payslips, you should contact your umbrella company to discuss them.

Storing your payslips securely

There are a number of reasons why you might need your historical payslips, including mortgage applications and pension queries which could need to be resolved many years in the future. It often isn’t practical to keep paper copies of your payslips for that long, so a digital solution is the best way to go. Fortunately, most umbrella companies will send your payslip to you electronically and online storage is easy to arrange.

This means there’s no risk of your documents being lost, and it’s always easy to find the information you need.

How to access Orange Genie Companion

The first time we pay you as our employee we’ll send you a text message advising you to set up your account and log in. Please follow the instructions to set up your account, this should only take a few minutes. Once you’ve set up your account, you’ll be able to access all your pay documents in the Your Pay and Pension section.

As well as logging in to view your pay documents, you’ll also use your Orange Genie Companion portal to access the other benefits and services we’ve chosen to help you make your money go further, care for yourself and your family and get the most out of life as our employee.
