Meet the Orange Genie Team – Max

Following on from our interviews with Tyler, Sophia and Marnie, this month’s Meet the Team episode features Max, who works in our Agency Care Team, answering queries and solving problems for our agency partners and their contractors.

Max is a long-standing Orange Genie veteran, and has found his niche in Agency Care; he’s a safe pair of hands, meeting each issue or query with calm good humour and measured action. In conversation he’s generous and entertaining, and our interview was full of one-liners and unexpected laughter.

On the most important part of his role, Max picks out the gathering and delivering of information. Agency care often get involved when something has not worked as expected, and it’s up to Max to find out what happened and work with all parties to resolve the issue and stop it happening again.

When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Max picks out his involvement in problem solving at the cutting edge of the company’s work, making things better as a cumulative, ongoing process which he finds both exciting and rewarding.

On his experience of working at Orange Genie he talks about the way we pull together. He’s confident that he can ask any colleague for help and they’ll do everything they can. He feels supported, and that his efforts are valued across the company.

Max’s success in Agency Care relies on his ability to find solutions and seamlessly work with others, and the extent of this talent is revealed when he talks about a trip to Poland, during which he taught an English language class whilst being unable to speak a word of Polish. He worked closely with a translator, and relied heavily on the good will of those around him. He remembers his class with great fondness, and it was obviously a positive experience, which shows what can be achieved with the right level of trust and co-operation.

When he’s not at work, Max lives in a hectic domestic bubble with his wife and young son, and his tales of their adventures suggest a maelstrom of wholesome fun and happy chaos.
